Vintage audio…

Vroeger had ik een mooie audio-set. Versterker en tuner van Yamaha (modelnummers helaas niet meer bekend, cassette-deck en tape-deck van Revox, draaitafel van Thorens, speakers van Bowers & Wilkins en kabels/snoeren van gerenomeerde merken.

Helaas heb ik daar op een gegeven moment afscheid van genomen en speelt mijn audio af op een surround-set. Een goede set, dat wel, maar het is geen HiFi. Een film kijken en luisteren is ideaal, zeker als het volume een beetje open gaat.

De laatste tijd ben ik aan het rondsnuffelen om weer een goede HiFi-set bij elkaar te krijgen. En ik wil niet een moderne set. Nee, een set uit de tijd van mijn HiFi-set. Componenten uit de jaren 80/90.

Tegenwoordig is alles uit die jaren, en ouder, vintage. Dus zoek je oudere HiFi apparatuur zoek dan ook eens naar “vintage audio”.

Kazoo

Afgelopen vrijdag ben ik naar Brigitte Kaandorp geweest in het nieuwe Luxor. Bij de ingang kreeg iedereen één of andere toeter. Op het gordijn in de zaal stonden wat muzieknoten en de tekst dat iedereen bij opkomst van Brigitte moest mee toeteren op de bij de ingang verstrekte Kazoo. Nooit eerder van gehoord? Nee, ik niet.

Grote pret als een bijna volle zaal op een Kazoo staat te tetteren. Je moet trouwens niet blazen in een Kazoo maar praten of zingen.

Brigitte was great!

Again KPN??? (wrongfully accused)

What’s happening at KPN? Last Wednesday i received another abuse message from my cell phone provider. No way i use as much data traffic as they say.

The text literally says:  Dear customer, your use i.c.m. your Surf&Mail Total subscription was 00,215.7 MB. You have exceeded the fair use policy of 10x the average.

I’m a little tired of these allegations KPN. What’s next?

Wrongfully accused

I have a account at one of the largest telecom providers in the Netherlands. Last Sunday they sent me a text message because I would have consumed 230mb of data. I actually use quite a lot of data but usually through wifi. The total on the counter of my iPhone is almost 400mb. It seems strong to me that I would have used like more than half over 3G.

If I again would consume more data than indicated in the fair user policy they would even be able to block my account. As you can imagine, I was a little concerned.

Fortunately they sent me a new text message Monday saying they erroneously had sent the message to me. But they did appologize.

So KPN, thanx for nothing!

No more paying to the social services

Since my divorce from my ex-wife every month she gets a cheque from the Social services which I had to pay for. Last week there was a small surprise in my bank account. There was a refund and the big news is … I do not have to pay € 140, – per month anymore.

I’m a happy dude!

iPhone and blogging

Right now i’m waiting for my fysiotherapist. As always, when i have to wait i browse thrue my iPhone to test some apps. And so i do check out the Wordpress app. This post is writen in the app and i love it. Keep following my blog to see more posts writen on my iPhone.

Powerbook G4 17″

Last juli i bought a Apple Powerbook G4, 17″ screen, 1,5gb of memory and a 320gb harddisk.

The memory has been extended to 2gb and a lot of software is installed.
The PB had to replace the “old” Dell Latitude D510 notebook. I love the PB and his Mac OSX. No more Windows for me. I gave the Dell to my niece so it don’t have to go eat dust on the attic.

So for now, i’m an Apple addict. Sue me!
